Plenty! hosted a Harvest of Gratitude because we are so grateful to our friends who make our mission possible - to nourish community and feed hungry neighbors by growing and sharing food.
On Oct 26, 2015, Plenty! hosted a Harvest of Gratitude with pinto beans, coleslaw, cornbread and desserts made by the Plenty! board. Pumpkins, games and a bouncy house for the kids. Butch Robbins, Bernie Coveney & Friends provided the beats to dance and celebrate. Our silent auction and raffle raised about $3,300 for our programs.
Here's a highlight - George and Susan are drivers on a Portable Produce route. They bought a raffle ticket for each person on their route and and they won a pasture raised turkey from Weathertop Farms for a family. We appreciate you, George and Susan!
Plenty! has many friends to thank, including
We love our Floyd County community where neighbors care about neighbors. This is the first year the Plenty! Farm has been in production, growing healthy produce for Food Bank visitors; to send out on our Portable Produce routes to people who don't have transportation and don't have access to fresh, local food; to send home with youngsters for Preschool Portable Produce; to host our Free Community Lunches; and to share with hungry neighbors in other ways.
Everyone is hungry for something - food, love, companionship, knowledge - Floyd County folks try to wrap arms around all of us.
Thank you Floyd County friends and neighbors!
